Visiting South Africa next summer

Hi friends, im going to visit South Africa next august (my wife, my daughter 14 years old and me. We are planning to land in Cape Town and rent a car for visiting sorroundings (including Porth Elisabeth...). Im looking for advice about renting a car:

1.- Is a good idea to rent a car? is dangerous driving?
2.- For going to Cape Town to Kruger National Park; by bus?, car? (apart from airplane)

It’s up to you, if you are expert driver therefore you should rent a car because if you renting a car then you will go anywhere easily means you are going with your family and you see the good place and you want to see so you can stay there and that would be much easy for you. If you are alone then you will choose the bus, so I recommend you to choose renting car.
