Hey guys,

I've travelled a lot around Europe, but haven't been able to explore the middle east too much. I'm wondering how cheap I can get around Turkey for. I don't want to do hotels.
I'll just be catching busses around and staying in hostels.

What's food like there?

Hi Ginger,

I was there about a year ago. Turkey uses YTL or TRY (or New Turkish Lira or Yeni Türk Lirasi if you speak turkish). These are all the same thing, just with different names. 1 Euro is about 1.91 YTL.

I found that hostels usually charge about 20-25 YTL a night, so that's fairly cheap compared to the rest of Europe. Busses are very cheap and are top quality.

Take some time to go on a guided tour... There's so much to Turkish culture that you won't understand just from being there.

Good luck Smiley
