Paris to Dublin

Our trip to Europe in July will be our first time traveling from one European Union country to another (other trips just involved one European country and then returning to the US). Is there anything we should know about traveling between European Union countries (Paris to Dublin for us in July) regarding customs, special taxes or any other information we need to keep in mind?
