I've heard differing reports over whether it's safe or not. I'm sure there are lots of things to be avoided, due to their strong culture and traditions. Has anyone got any advice for me? I'll be travelling with a female friend for most of the trip. Do they expect foreigners to wear burqas?

Thanks

It really depends where you go. If you go to Istanbul or Dubai, you're going to be 100% fine. Those cities are very western. Tel Aviv is also meant to be fairly okay with western traditions (despite other possible problems)... As far as little rural villages, I'm not sure how it would go down.

Where are you planning on going?
