I am a very active bird watcher and I will be moving to Khartoum in August to work for at least a couple of years. Does anyone know if there are any bird clubs or natural history societies, or ornithologists working the region? From the little I have been able to get from birding websites, this is a really great place during migration with millions of migrant birds following the Nile as a route across the desert. There also seem to be lots of interesting places for birds around the country (which has more than 1000 species), but I wonder how easy it will be to get around to see them. Any help appreciated.
Thanks
