Berlin to Tallinn by motorhome

In May I will be travelling across Poland in a motorhome on my way to Tallinn. Does anyone have any ideas of the best route and interesting things to see on the way. Preferably outwith the main cities. I have heard reports that the roads are extremely bad, is this true or fiction. Any information would be grateful.
