Amsterdam on Sept 19 - tour guides?!

Hi, I will be in Amsterdam for only one day and night (Sept 19-20) on a stopover. I wanted to see if there are any fellow virtual tourist members who can give me tips of what to do or show me around. I went there long time ago and can't remember much. About me: young professional, Mexican (live in Boston), 32 years old, married, (just to clarify -not looking for any kind of hook ups).
